South Cerney Gravel is a rounded oolitic limestone. It is a cream / buff / yellow / beige even coloured gravel and one of the most popular decorative gravels available. It comes in a range of sizes 20mm, 10mm for driveways and paths and also 40mm for more decorative purposes. With it being an oolitic limestone it is a softer material and over time it breaks down and slowly binds together. South Cerney may need topping up a little more regularly than flint based gravels. It compliments red brick houses very well. South Cerney stone is also known as Thames Beige and Oxford Stone and it sometimes incorrectly referred to as Cotswold stone. Because it is rounded it is an easier and kinder stone than some for walking on in bare feet. This make it a good stone for horses and other animals to walk on or over.
